Photobooth or photographer: do you have to choose?
"Do I need a photobooth or a photographer for my wedding?" In reality, the question is a bit of a trap: these two services do not play the same role. Here is how to tell them apart.
The photographer: the professional eye
The photographer captures the key moments (ceremony, portraits, coverage of the day) with an artistic eye and high-end equipment. They deliver the official, polished memories of your wedding. Irreplaceable for the essentials.
The photobooth: participatory animation
The photobooth puts the guests at the centre. During the reception and the evening, everyone has fun freely in front of the lens, with accessories, and leaves with their printed photo. It is an animation that creates atmosphere and spontaneous memories — the ones the photographer cannot capture everywhere at once.
Two complementary services
Photographer and photobooth are therefore not in opposition: they complement each other. The first documents your day, the second animates it and involves your guests. Many couples choose both for this reason.
And if the budget is tight?
If you have to prioritise, keep the photographer for the official memories. The photobooth remains affordable (from €100) though, and brings an animation value that nothing else replaces on the big day.
